Kurt's Recording Comments:
This recording was made on the day following the premiere.
As I mentioned on the program notes page for RunoTrio,
I did not write the guitar part with myself in mind as the performer.
Having not played guitar on a regular basis for a number of years,
it took some work to get back up to speed (I also never really
studied classical guitar seriously). I am very happy with the
result, although I'd love to hear an accomplished classical guitarist
play the piece someday.* Sabine and Shelly performed just beautifully.
This is one of my favorite pieces, especially the last two movements.
* = The second performance was later given on
Nov. 4, 2001 with guitarist Jeff
Lambert, who did a wonderful job. Despite Jeff's superior
guitar playing the present recording is of better quality overall.
